We know trusting us with your money is an important decision. Here's a clear explanation of what protections exist, how they work, and what their limits are.
Hapi Securities LLC is a registered broker-dealer, member of FINRA and SIPC (CRD #311868). Custody and clearing of your securities account are handled by Apex Clearing Corporation. As a broker-dealer, we comply with the SEC's Customer Protection Rule (Rule 15c3-3): customer securities are held segregated from the firm's assets. If the firm were to become insolvent, this segregation is designed so that your securities are not used to cover the firm's obligations.
To protect your information we use encryption and other security measures, and we are subject to SEC and FINRA rules and examinations. No security measure can fully eliminate risk, but we work to reduce it.
About SIPC protection Hapi Securities LLC is a member of SIPC. If the firm were to fail, SIPC protects customer securities and cash up to $500,000, of which up to $250,000 may be claims for cash. SIPC does not protect against loss of market value of your investments, nor does it cover all asset types. You can review the explanatory brochure and coverage details at www.sipc.org.
SIPC protection applies only to your securities account at Hapi Securities. It does not cover cryptocurrency, which is not a security and is not protected by SIPC or FDIC.
How does Hapi keep my account secure?
We encrypt your information and apply security measures to help reduce the risk of unauthorized access.
We are members of SIPC (see coverage details and limits above). Explanatory brochure available at www.sipc.org or upon request.
Apex, our clearing firm, maintains additional protection that supplements SIPC coverage. This protection also does not cover loss of market value and is subject to the limits and conditions of the policy.
To comply with anti-money laundering rules, we review withdrawals sent to an account whose owner differs from the owner of your Hapi account.
We limit active sessions: your account can only be connected on one mobile app and one web session at a time. If you log in on another app, the previous session is automatically closed. This helps reduce the risk of unauthorized access.
What can you do to protect your account?
Enable biometric authentication on your device.
Use a strong, unique password that you don't use on any other service.
Review your trade confirmations and account statements to make sure everything is correct.
