A day trade is buying and selling the same stock or ETF on the same trading day.
What changed?
Since June 4, 2026, FINRA replaced the Pattern Day Trader (PDT) rule with intraday margin requirements. For you, this means:
There's no longer a limit on the number of day trades you can make.
You no longer need US$25,000 in equity to day trade.
What to keep in mind
During the day, your trades must stay within the buying power shown in the app.
If they go beyond it, your account may receive an intraday margin call. If it isn't covered, your account may be restricted.
Hapi applies buying power limits that are more conservative than the maximum allowed, designed to help prevent this type of call.
Hapi doesn't promote day trading: it can be a high-risk strategy and may not be suitable for all investors.
