What is buying power?
What is buying power?
Updated over 3 months ago

In your Hapi account, you will see funds listed under "Buying Power". This represents the amount of funds available to purchase assets (stocks, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies).

Buying power includes your settled funds but may not cover funds that are still settling due to recent trades or deposits (for more information on settlement periods, click here). It also excludes funds that have already been used for purchases.

You can check your available buying power on the general section in our app or in the portfolio section.

Why don't I see my deposit reflected in the buying power?

If you don't see your funds in the buying power section, it could mean that they are still in transit. Typically, deposits take 2 to 5 business days to credit to your Hapi account.

Unfortunately, there is no way for us to influence these timelines as they are managed by your bank.

After the 2 to 5 business days period, you can reach out via chat or email at [email protected] to inquire about the deposit status.

Why don't I see the money from a sale reflected in my buying power?

As per the rules of the U.S. stock exchange, there is a settlement period of 1 business day to receive the money after selling assets in your account. You can find more information about the settlement period here.
