How to Close Your Hapi Account

We’re sorry to see you go. If you’ve decided to close your account, here’s how to do it step-by-step, along with the requirements and a few important considerations.

How to close your account

You can close your account directly from the Hapi app by following these steps:

  1. Go to Settings > Account > Close Account.

  2. Review the benefits you’ll lose and select “Close account anyway” if you’re sure.

  3. Choose the reason why you’re leaving Hapi. You can select one or more options.

  4. Confirm the closure by entering your OTP code or using Passkey (depending on your setup).

  5. Done! Your account will be closed, and you’ll no longer have access through the app.

Requirements to close your account

To close your account, you must meet two key conditions:

  1. Balance and assets of USD 5 or less:

    The total sum of your Stock Equity + Crypto Equity + Buying Power must be between 0 and 5 USD.

  2. No pending transactions:

    You must not have any of the following in progress:

    • Fiat withdrawals

    • Crypto withdrawals

    • Pending or unsettled trades

If your balance is above 5 USD, please sell your positions or withdraw your funds before requesting the closure.

Important considerations

  • Data retention: As required by the SEC (Rule 17a‑3 and Rule 17a‑4), we must retain your account records for at least 6 years after closure.

  • Reactivation: If you decide to come back later, you can reactivate your account by emailing [email protected].

  • Privacy and security: Your personal and financial information remains secure and confidential in accordance with our privacy policies.
