Dividends: how they work and how to get them in Hapi
At Hapi your dividends are processed automatically. Cash dividends will be added as cash to your account.
How to find dividends on the app:
Tap on the wallet icon
Tap on "History"
Use the filter to choose dividend history
✍️ The dividends credited to your account have already been discounted by the mandatory 30% that is paid as taxes to the US.
How to know if I will receive dividend payments?
To qualify for dividend payments, you must have acquired shares before the ex-dividend date. You can hold the shares after that date or sell them on the date and still qualify for the payment.
You will not qualify for dividend payments if you buy shares on the ex-dividend date or after it, or if you sell the shares before the ex-dividend date.
☝️ Important:
Dividends from international companies may take about 2 to 3 business days after the official payment date to reflect in your account.
Dividend payments are typically made at the end of the trading day designated as the payment day.
Dividends for fractional shares are paid proportionally to the fraction of shares you own, rounded to the nearest cent.
