What is the Maintenance Fee?

You have a charge that you do not recognize or indicates that it is due to maintance fee? We explain you all about it.

Hapi charges a monthly US$4.99 maintenance fee on non-Prime accounts with a balance under USD 100 that haven't logged in for 60 days or more. If the account has no money or assets, the inactivity fee will not be charged. You can check our Fee Schedule for more information.

If the account has no cash, pending maintenance fee charges are automatically deducted from your Buying Power when you make a new deposit or sell assets. This means that if you have three months accrued with no activity and you make a deposit or a sale, the pending $4.99 charges will be deducted.

Important: To avoid the inactivity fee, you only need to log in to your account at least once every 60 days. There is no need to make purchases, sales, deposits, or any other transactions; simply logging in is enough for your account to be considered active.

If you don’t have assets or cash (portfolio at $0), you won’t be charged either. For example, new users who haven’t started investing in Hapi don’t have any pending fees.

How to avoid the maintenance fee?

Avoiding these charges is simple. You can do it in two ways:

  1. Keep your account active by logging in at least once every 60 days. To be considered an active user, you only need to log in to your account; there is no need to make transactions or deposits.

  2. Increase your account balance to USD 100 (total assets).

We will always try to notify you before charging the inactivity fee to your account.

How much is the maintenance fee?

USD 4.99 per month while the account remains in that condition (60+ days without login, under USD 100, and non-Prime).
