How do Thematic Portfolios work in Hapi?

Simplify the way you invest, considering risks and market fluctuations, with our new portfolios.

Thematic Portfolios are a simple and organized way to invest in multiple assets at the same time, based on objective criteria or inspired by publicly available information from well-known investors, without implying replication or recommendation.

These portfolios are informational and educational and do not constitute investment advice or a recommendation. Hapi Securities LLC is a registered broker-dealer in the U.S. that offers a self-directed platform; portfolios do not guarantee results or future performance.

What are Thematic Portfolios?

They are combinations of stocks and ETFs selected based on a specific criterion:

  • Investment strategy (bonds, dividends, technology, etc.)

  • Portfolios inspired by well-known investors such as Warren Buffett, Bill Ackman, Mohnish Pabrai, Ray Dalio, among others.

Each portfolio includes a suggested allocation, which may change and does not guarantee results, and allows you to invest in the group of assets in an automated way, without needing to select each asset individually.

How to invest in a Thematic Portfolio?

  1. Go to the Explore → Portfolios section in the Hapi app.

  2. Select the portfolio that interests you the most.

  3. Review its description, the assets it includes, and its allocation.

  4. Click Invest and define the amount (consider the required minimum).

  5. Review the details and confirm your order.

Orders are executed based on market conditions. Execution price is not guaranteed.

👉 From the same portfolio, you can invest again, buy or sell individual assets, or even liquidate the entire portfolio.

Benefits of investing in Portfolios

  • Convenience: invest in multiple assets in an automated way.

  • Diversification: your investments are distributed across different sectors or strategies from the start.

  • Organization: view and track the performance of each portfolio separately.

  • Flexibility: you can sell assets within the portfolio or continue investing in it whenever you want.

Diversification does not guarantee profits or eliminate the risk of loss.

Who is it for?

  • Beginners: who don’t know where to start.

  • Active investors: who want to organize their assets by strategy or theme.

  • Users looking for structured references: who prefer options suggested based on defined criteria.

Each user should evaluate whether it is appropriate based on their profile, personal objectives, investment horizon, and risk tolerance.

Requirements to invest

  • Have available balance in your Hapi account.

  • Choose the portfolio of your interest.

  • Confirm your investment.

What happens after investing?

Once your investment is confirmed, you will be able to:

  • View all assets in the portfolio and their relative weight.

  • Track movements and performance in real time (subject to market availability).

  • Sell individual assets or the entire portfolio.

  • Make additional investments in the same portfolio.

What happens if I invest outside market hours?

If you invest in a portfolio outside regular market hours (9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. ET), the order will not be executed immediately.

In these cases:

  • It will not be executed immediately

  • It will be scheduled as a recurring order for the next business day

  • It will be processed when the market opens

Orders are subject to price fluctuations and a specific execution price is not guaranteed.

Dividends in portfolios

If the assets within a portfolio generate dividends:

  • Dividends are not assigned to the custom portfolio

  • They are credited directly to your main portfolio (general account)

This applies even if you have dividend reinvestment (DRIP) enabled; reinvested shares will appear in your main portfolio.

Dividends depend on the issuer and are not guaranteed.
